This resolution mourns the death of Mr. Willie Rogers Jones of Montgomery, Alabama, who died on March 25, 2011, at age 55.

Mr. Jones served as Senior Vice President of the YMCA and was Executive Director of the Cleveland Avenue YMCA for 15 years, working extensively with youth programs.

He was instrumental in establishing the Cleveland Avenue Cultural Arts and Education Center in 2000, the largest YMCA facility in the country dedicated entirely to the arts.

Mr. Jones served on the Montgomery Housing Authority Board of Directors, Montgomery County Recreation Commission, and as chairman of the Montgomery County Community Punishment and Corrections Authority, advocating for nonviolent offenders and underprivileged children.

He is survived by his wife Versie Jones and two children, Jeff and Jennifer; the House of Representatives offers this resolution in tribute to his life and legacy.
