Honors the opening of the Bloom Hillel Student Center on the University of Alabama campus on April 2, 2011, as a new Jewish student center.

The facility is approximately 4,200 square feet, located near Temple Emanu-El synagogue, and includes a student lounge, multipurpose room, kitchen, library, and courtyard.

The old Hillel House, located across from Bryant-Denny Stadium for over 50 years, was purchased by the university in 2008; a Jewish architect designed the new center.

Jewish student population on campus grew from over 170 students in 2007 to over 700, with the new center providing opportunity for continued growth.

House of Representatives honors and commends the Bloom Hillel Student Center on its opening as a symbol of the Jewish community's commitment to expanding its presence at the University of Alabama.
