Commends Dr. Charles and Mrs. Ruth Otto for receiving Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Chattahoochee Humane Society on April 9, 2011.

Awards presented in conjunction with the first annual Doggone Art Show in Valley, Alabama, featuring dog show categories and artwork by local artists with proceeds benefiting the Chattahoochee Humane Society.

Dr. Otto graduated from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine, established his veterinary practice in Dadeville, moved to Valley in the mid-1950s, and retired in 1990; he serves as a voter registrar in Chambers County Courthouse.

Dr. and Mrs. Otto have five children, 16 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren; they were instrumental in founding the Chattahoochee Humane Society and continue volunteer work at senior centers and the local Hospice program.

The Alabama House of Representatives honors Dr. Charles and Mrs. Ruth Otto for their lifetime commitment to community service and dedicates this resolution to them with congratulations and best wishes.
