Commends the First Baptist Church of Lomax, Alabama, on its 50th Anniversary of service to God and mankind.

The church originated from a Lomax Baptist Mission organized on April 16, 1961, by the First Baptist Church of Clanton, with initial services beginning March 9, 1958, in a small store building with 13 worshippers in Sunday school and 19 in Training Union.

The church's current auditorium was dedicated in January 1969, and features a notable memorial chapel with a bell on its grounds.

Current pastor Reverend Jim Otts continues the church's tradition of spiritual leadership, with Reverend Ronald Euler (pastor when the mission became a church) scheduled as guest speaker for the anniversary celebration.

The House of Representatives honors the church and conveys congratulations and best wishes for the future through presentation of this resolution.
