Recognizes Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office Deputy Scott Taylor as a nominee for the 2011 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement.

On April 19, 2010, Deputy Taylor exposed himself in the open approximately 30 feet from an armed suspect to provide cover for retreating officers during an arrest warrant service.

Deputy Taylor fired multiple rounds at the suspect who was sweeping a 45 caliber pistol searching for police officers to shoot, striking him center mass and forcing him to drop the weapon and retreat.

Deputy Taylor has been employed with the Sheriff's Office since September 1999 and has received numerous commendations for outstanding service to Tuscaloosa County citizens.

The House of Representatives directs that Deputy Taylor receive a copy of this resolution as a token of admiration and esteem.
