Recognizes Huntsville Police Officer Grady Thigpen as a nominee for the 2011 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement.

On September 6, 2010, Officer Thigpen responded to a suspicious vehicle behind a church and found a female holding a gun to her mouth; he immediately removed the weapon before she could discharge it.

Officer Thigpen's quick actions prevented harm to a person who had already demonstrated suicidal intent by firing a round moments before his arrival.

Directs that Officer Thigpen receive a copy of this resolution as a token of the legislature's admiration and esteem.
