Designates May 8, 2011, as a day in honor of Dr. Lance D. Grissett of Talladega, Alabama, who died on July 24, 2010, at age 74.

Recognizes Dr. Grissett's 43-year career in education, including 20 years as Superintendent of the Talladega County School System and service as Interim Superintendent for Barbour County Schools and Roanoke City School System.

Acknowledges his receipt of the 1993 Superintendent of the Year award for the State of Alabama and his service in the United States Naval Reserve.

Honors his civic leadership roles including election to Talladega City Council in 2007 as President Pro Tem, presidency of the Talladega Kiwanis Club, and instrumental work establishing the Talladega County Schools Foundation.

Extends condolences to his surviving wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Lunsford Grissett, and his four children and three grandchildren.
