The House of Representatives mourns the death of Kevin "Brent" Jones, a resident of Montgomery and formerly from Hokes Bluff, who died on May 2, 2011, at age 35.

Brent was a graduate of Hokes Bluff High School (Class of 1993), the University of Alabama (finance degree), and Jacksonville State University (MBA), and worked for the State Finance Department.

He was a member of Hokes Bluff First Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, golf, marathons, and spending time with family and friends; he previously held Alabama and Mississippi State half marathon records.

Brent is survived by his mother, Becky Jones, and numerous aunts, cousins, extended family, and friends; he was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Jones.

The House extends heartfelt sympathy to Jones's family and friends, and provides a copy of this resolution to them.
