Mary Beatrice Harcrow Shields of Fultondale died on May 2, 2011, at age 86, having been born in Alabama City on June 12, 1924.

She was a devoted member of Young's Chapel Methodist Church of Hokes Bluff and was survived by her daughter Billie Barron, son William Franklin Harcrow, three brothers, five sisters, 10 grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands William F. Harcrow and R.T. "Whitney" Shields and children Shirley Owens and Pat Vansandt.

The House of Representatives records her death with deep sadness and extends heartfelt sympathy to her grieving family and friends.
