Willie Guy Higgins of Hokes Bluff, Alabama, died on Sunday, May 1, 2011, at the age of 94 years.

Higgins was a longtime Etowah County resident who retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in 1977 and was ordained by the Church of God on February 5, 1953, pastoring churches in Blount, Etowah, Cherokee, and Marshall Counties.

He is survived by his daughters Fran Harcrow and Sue Cole; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his sister Lucille Gargus; and several nieces and nephews.

The House of Representatives extends heartfelt sympathy to his grieving family and friends and records his death with deep sadness.
