Commends Al Cook for his distinguished service as Director of Economic Development for the City of Opelika from March 2003 to May 31, 2011.

Recognizes Cook's leadership in creating more than 2,100 industrial jobs representing over $471 million in capital investment to the community.

Credits Cook with expanding the Northeast Opelika Industrial Park from one tenant to six world-class companies and recruiting Gambro Renal Products, which grew from an initial $120 million investment to over $160 million.

Notes Cook's involvement in TigerTown and "Celebrate Alabama" development projects expected to generate thousands of retail jobs and millions in tourism dollars.
