Commends the University of Alabama Greek community for relief efforts following the April 27, 2011 tornadoes that caused unprecedented destruction and loss of life across Alabama.

Greek community organized a food drive on the night of the storms, delivering over 1,500 meals by April 28, 2011, and established the UA Greek Relief Fund through social media platforms.

By April 29, 2011, relief operations expanded to include a communication center, donation supply drop-off, food pantry, on-site food service, and delivery service throughout Tuscaloosa County, raising over $100,000 and delivering more than 52,000 hot meals within two weeks.

Relief efforts provided thousands of pounds of food, clothing, tents, hygiene supplies, and other goods to tornado survivors, rescue workers, National Guard, Red Cross, relief centers, and veterinary practices.

House of Representatives expresses sincere gratitude to the UA Greek Relief operations and recognizes the spirit of volunteerism and community service they have inspired.
