Commends Reverend Preston Nix for 25 years of service to the Lord.

Nix graduated from Norris High School in 1968, worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 31 years before retiring in 2002, and is a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Attalla.

Nix was ordained a Minister of God in 1991 and has served as pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist Church for 17 years.

Nix served on the Attalla Board of Education starting in April 1987 representing District One and recently observed his 25th year of service; he also founded the Youth Enrichment Program of Attalla in 1997 and established the Nix Family Scholarship at Etowah High School in 2003.

Nix currently serves as chairman of multiple organizations including the Voter League, Attalla Museum, Etowah County Food Bank, and Etowah Metropolitan Planning Organization.
