Commends East McFarland Baptist Church for community service and relief efforts following the April 27, 2011, tornadoes in Alabama.

Church prepared meals in its kitchen and served breakfast, lunch, and dinner to tornado survivors, first responders, and Southern Baptist relief workers from multiple states.

Church provided housing for over 100 guests nightly in its gymnasium and Sunday School classrooms, including volunteer groups from Auburn University (20 students) and Louisiana State University (40 students).

Pastor Doug Reeves organized relief coordination efforts that matched tornado victims with volunteer labor and other necessary services.

House of Representatives extends gratitude to the church for instilling a spirit of volunteerism and service in the community with lasting positive influence.
