AL SB114

Amends Section 13A-8-10 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to remove the requirement that a person committing theft of services must have known the services were available only for compensation.

A person now commits theft of services by intentionally obtaining services through deception, threat, false token, or other means to avoid payment, without needing to have known compensation was required.

Maintains existing definitions of "services" including labor, professional services, transportation, public services, accommodations, admissions, and computer services.

Preserves the 120-day prosecution limitation for services obtained from hotels, motels, inns, restaurants, or cafes.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and Governor approval, or when otherwise becoming law.
