AL SB130

Amends Section 36-32-2 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to modify the Alabama Firefighters' Personnel Standards and Education Commission/Alabama State Fire College-Shelton State Community College membership.

Adds one member appointed by the Alabama Association of Volunteer Fire Departments to serve a four-year term on the commission.

Reduces the number of members appointed by the Governor from four to three members.

Maintains the commission's total membership at seven members, including representatives from the Professional Firefighters Association of Alabama, the Alabama Firemen's Association, the State Fire Marshal or designee, and the Governor's three appointees.

The new volunteer fire departments member's term begins immediately upon expiration of the first Governor-appointed member's term after the act's effective date.
