• Beginning with the 2012 election cycle, principal campaign committees and political action committees must file reports on the last day of each month starting 12 months before any primary, special, runoff, or general election, with weekly reports required starting the month before the election.

• Starting with the 2014 election cycle, electronic filing of campaign finance reports becomes mandatory for legislative, state school board, and statewide elections, with limited exceptions for committees receiving $10,000 or less per cycle.

• The Secretary of State must establish and maintain a public searchable database of all campaign contributions and expenditures, allowing searches by recipient name, contributor name, zip code, and contribution dates.

• Committees must file reports disclosing any single contribution of $20,000 or more within two business days of receipt, beginning with the 2014 election cycle.

• Section 527 political organizations that contribute to state or local elections become subject to campaign finance disclosure reporting requirements, and campaign books must close two days before specified reporting dates beginning with the 2012 election cycle.
