• Applies to cancellations due to extreme circumstances including natural occurrences, health-related events, or other extenuating circumstances.

• Allows affected school systems closed due to gubernatorial state of emergency declarations to appeal to the State Superintendent for relief in meeting calendar requirements without loss of employee income.

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
