SB337 Summary

• Amends Alabama Code Sections 40-23-35 and 40-23-77 to change the distribution of Sales Tax Discount and Use Tax Discount revenues.

• Redirects revenues from discount caps on vendor licenses: for fiscal years 2012-2013, $5,000,000 previously allocated to state parks is transferred to the State General Fund instead.

• For fiscal years 2012-2013, redirects $1,000,000 in Coastal Programs funding to the State General Fund rather than conservation and natural resources.

• Maintains Department of Human Resources funding of up to $500,000 annually from discount cap revenues for foster children programs beginning October 1, 2002.

• Effective October 1, 2011, these changes temporarily redirect state park and coastal program revenues to general fund operations for two fiscal years.
