President of the University of South Alabama may appoint and employ police officers to maintain peace and order on university property, including any property owned, leased, or otherwise controlled by the university.

Police officers are authorized to eject trespassers from university buildings and grounds and to arrest without warrant any person believed guilty of disorderly conduct, trespass, or any public offense committed in their presence.

Police officers may arrest with a warrant any person found on or near university premises charged with a public offense and bring them before the proper officer.

Police officers may summon a posse comitatus to assist in their duties.

Police officers shall cooperate with and assist the municipalities of Mobile and Fairhope authorities when requested, with jurisdiction coextensive within those municipalities' police jurisdictions.
