• Amends the Alabama Security Regulatory Board licensing requirements for security guards, armed security guards, and contract security companies providing private security services in the state.

• Requires applicants to submit to a criminal history background check conducted through the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and Federal Bureau of Investigation, with costs borne by the applicant.

• Allows the Alabama Security Regulatory Board to determine licensure fees with caps: contract security companies capped at $500 (increases not to exceed $50 per period) and security officers capped at $150 (increases not to exceed $25 per period).

• Removes exemptions for persons employed with contract security companies with fewer than 100 security officers and persons 65 years of age or older who provide private contract security services directly to businesses.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
