• Prohibits inmates in Alabama Department of Corrections custody from possessing cellular telephones, wireless communication devices, or computers allowing input/output/examination/transfer of programs, with exceptions for authorized possession.

• Makes it unlawful for any person to deliver or possess with intent to deliver such devices to an inmate in Alabama Department of Corrections custody.

• Requires inmates communicating via cellular telephone, wireless device, or computer to provide their identity and inmate identification number to the recipient.

• Authorizes confiscation of cellular telephones and wireless communication devices found on visitors during searches or metal detector screening, with required posted notices at visitation search areas.

• Establishes violation as a Class C felony and permits Alabama Department of Corrections to enter into agreements or contracts to detect unauthorized inmate communications.
