Commends the Honorable Pedro Scurlock, District Judge of Choctaw County, for his distinguished service and retirement.

Judge Scurlock served 12 years in private practice before being elected District Judge in 1986 and worked 11 years as an Assistant District Attorney.

He graduated from Choctaw County High School in 1964, University of South Alabama in 1972 with a degree in Criminal Justice, and University of Alabama School of Law in 1975 with a Juris Doctorate.

Served as a Vietnam veteran in the U.S. Navy Naval Construction Battalion between Da Nang and Marble Mountain, South Vietnam, as Construction Electrician (Third Class) and Assistant Gunner on an 81mm mortar squad, honorably discharged in 1969.

Senate adopted the resolution on March 24, 2011 and House of Representatives adopted it on March 29, 2011.
