Commends Dr. Natalie A. Whalen of Ozark, Alabama, upon her selection as Ms. Wheelchair Alabama 2011.

Recognizes Dr. Whalen as the state's most accomplished and articulate spokesperson for wheelchair users who will represent Alabama at the Ms. Wheelchair USA competition in July 2011 in Green, Ohio.

Notes Dr. Whalen's distinguished career as an educator, holding a Master's Degree in Special Education from Florida State University (1982) and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Special Education from The Union Institute and University of Cincinnati, Ohio (1999).

Highlights that Dr. Whalen overcame paralysis from the shoulders down after being struck by a truck at age five and achieved significant milestones including raising two children and maintaining community leadership roles with the Wiregrass Patriots, Claybank Master Gardeners, and Bama Belles Red Hat Society.

Directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to Dr. Whalen with best wishes for future success and happiness.
