Recognizes May 1-7, 2011, as Physical Education and Sports Week and the month of May as Physical Fitness and Sports Month in Alabama.

Urges all Alabamians to participate in the "Let's Move in School" campaign to promote quality physical education programs in schools.

Cites that obesity-related diseases cost the United States economy more than $139 billion annually and that fewer than one-third of individuals aged 6-17 participate in regular vigorous physical activity.

Calls for comprehensive school physical activity programs with quality physical education as the foundation to develop youth knowledge, skills, and confidence for lifelong physical activity.

Directs that a copy of the resolution be provided for appropriate presentation and display during observance of these events.
