Urges the Governor and Attorney General to use all available powers to force British Petroleum to expedite payment of claims submitted by Alabama citizens affected by the Deepwater Horizon disaster.

Addresses the April 20, 2010 Deepwater Horizon drilling rig explosion and resulting oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico, which caused job losses and business income losses for many Alabama residents.

Calls for British Petroleum to compensate Alabama state and local governments for reduced tax revenue resulting from the oil spill disaster.

Acknowledges that British Petroleum has received claims from Alabama citizens that remain unpaid and that nonpayment has exacerbated losses suffered by affected citizens.

Requires a copy of the resolution be forwarded to the Governor and Attorney General.
