HB11 Summary

• Surviving spouses and dependents of State Employees' Insurance Board (SEIB) members killed in the line of duty or who die from line-of-duty injuries continue coverage under the SEIB health insurance plan with costs paid from the State Treasury.

• Spouse coverage terminates if the surviving spouse remarries or obtains alternate health insurance.

• Dependent coverage terminates when the dependent no longer meets eligibility requirements for coverage.

• The act became effective on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval.
