Dale County Sheriff receives an additional expense allowance of $15,000 per annum, payable in equal monthly installments from the county general fund, effective the first day of the month following the act's passage.

The $15,000 expense allowance may be treated as compensation for retirement contributions and is in addition to all other existing expense allowances, compensation, or salary.

Upon expiration of the incumbent sheriff's term, the annual salary for the sheriff increases by $15,000 per annum payable in equal monthly installments from the county general fund.

Section 1 regarding the temporary expense allowance becomes null and void when the salary increase takes effect with the new sheriff's term.

The act became effective immediately upon passage by the House on February 14, 2012, and passage by the Senate on March 1, 2012.
