• Applies exclusively to Mobile County and authorizes any municipality within the county to contract with the county sheriff for police services.

• Sheriff and commissioned deputies may enforce all laws within municipal corporate limits and police jurisdiction, including municipal ordinances, with arrest and citation authority as if they were municipal police officers.

• Contracting municipality must pay the county treasury a sum sufficient for necessary manpower and equipment as mutually agreed by the municipal governing body, sheriff, and county commission.

• County governing body may receive and expend funds from the municipality for police services in the contracting municipality and its police jurisdiction.

• Sheriff and deputies retain all legal and constitutional immunities afforded by law, and all contracts require consent and approval of both the sheriff and county commission.
