HB259 Summary - The Alabama Full Disclosure Act

• Amends Section 17-5-8 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to expand campaign finance reporting requirements for contributions exceeding $100.

• Requires campaign finance reports to include the occupation of contributors and the name of the employer for all candidates and principal campaign committees (previously only required the contributor's name).

• For political action committees, expands identification requirements to include name, occupation, employer, and city of residence of contributors over $100.

• Becomes effective October 1, 2012, following passage and approval by the Governor.
