• Prohibits more than one adult or unrelated juvenile criminal sex offender from residing in the same residence.

• Requires a minimum distance of 100 yards between residences of adult criminal sex offenders in apartment complexes.

• Imposes civil penalties of $5,000 per violation on property owners or lessees who knowingly permit violations, with penalties split equally between the county sheriff's department and district attorney's office.

• Exempts sex offenders who are spouses or children of property owners/lessees, those with signed non-offender statements from lessees, and those residing in state-approved treatment facilities or Board of Pardons and Paroles-approved halfway houses.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval.
