AL HB44

Increases the prohibited distance that unauthorized persons must maintain from polling places from 30 feet to 150 feet under Sections 11-46-28 and 17-9-50 of the Alabama Code.

Allows only voters, persons assisting voters, election officials, law enforcement officers, and election watchers to be within the 150-foot zone.

Applies the new distance requirement to both municipal elections (Section 11-46-28) and general polling place regulations (Section 17-9-50).

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor, or upon otherwise becoming law.
