• Alters, rearranges, and extends the corporate boundary limits of the Town of Gilbertown in Choctaw County by adding approximately 7,040 acres of territory.

• Specifies the new boundary using section lines in Choctaw County, beginning at the Northwest corner of Section 31, Township 11 North, Range 3 West and encompassing land through multiple township and range coordinates.

• A map showing the proposed annexation territory is filed in the office of the Judge of Probate in Choctaw County and is open for public inspection.

• The boundary extension becomes operative only if approved by qualified electors residing in the territory through a referendum election held on August 28, 2012, in conjunction with the Gilbertown municipal election.

• If a majority votes "Yes," Section 1 becomes immediately operative; if a majority votes "No," the act is repealed and has no further effect. The Town of Gilbertown pays all election costs.
