Court-ordered restitution must be paid to the Medicaid Agency or other state agency administering a state or federally funded health care program when a victim receives medical assistance for injuries resulting from criminal activity.

Restitution payments to Medicaid or other state health care programs shall be made in the same manner as other restitution payments under Section 15-18-67.

Victims must be paid in full before any other fees subject to reimbursement are paid.

The act becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor, or upon otherwise becoming law.
