• Allows spouses of active duty military personnel stationed in Alabama to obtain professional licenses and certificates if they hold valid licenses from other states with equal or greater requirements.

• Eligible applicants must be married to and living with an active duty U.S. Armed Forces member relocated to Alabama under official military orders, with no disciplinary history or pending investigations related to professional licensing.

• Requires licensing boards, agencies, and commissions to expedite applications for eligible military spouses according to statute, promulgated rules, or at the next scheduled licensure proceeding.

• Permits Alabama licensing entities to establish reciprocity agreements with other states for military spouse professional licensing and certification.

• Excludes the practice of law and regulation of attorneys from this act; becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval.
