Effective January 1, 2013, the Randolph County Sheriff receives an additional monthly expense allowance of $500 paid from the county general fund, in addition to all other compensation and salary provided by law.

Beginning with the next term of office, the Sheriff's salary shall equal the first step of the Circuit Clerk's salary range for Randolph County, payable monthly from the county general fund, and the $500 monthly allowance becomes null and void.

Newly elected or appointed sheriffs shall initially receive salary at Step 1 of the Circuit Clerk's compensation schedule and receive annual raises following the same schedule as the Circuit Clerk.

The act became effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
