HB 784 Summary

• Amends Section 34-23-116 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to add the Public Education Employees' Health Insurance Plan to the list of entities exempt from the Third Party Prescription Program Act.

• The Third Party Prescription Program Act currently requires that pharmacy reimbursement rates not be less than usual and customary rates paid by consumers without third party plans for the same or similar services.

• Exempts the Public Education Employees' Health Insurance Plan from this reimbursement rate requirement, joining existing exemptions for the Alabama Medicaid Program and corporations organized under Title 10, Chapter 4, Article 6.

• The bill becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor or upon otherwise becoming law.
