• Commends the Tuskegee Airmen, approximately 1,000 black aviators who trained at Tuskegee Institute and flew combat missions during World War II.

• Recognizes the Tuskegee Airmen's combat achievements: flew more than 15,000 sorties, destroyed more than 450 enemy planes, suffered 66 pilots killed and 35 shot down and captured, and did not lose a single bomber they escorted.

• Invites the Tuskegee Airmen to address a joint session of the Alabama Legislature at a time chosen by the Lieutenant Governor and Speaker of the House after consultation with the resolution's sponsor.

• Directs that a copy of the resolution be provided to the Tuskegee Airmen.

• Adopted by the House on March 6, 2012 and the Senate on March 6, 2012.
