AL HJR28

Creates the Alabama Task Force on Homeowners Associations composed of 12 members: 4 appointed by the Governor, 4 by the Lieutenant Governor, and 4 by the Speaker of the House.

Requires task force appointments to include representatives from homeowners associations, home financial lenders, state real estate agents, and state home builders/developers.

Task force shall study all facets of homeowners associations and examine possible legislation relating to them, with the Attorney General assisting in drafting proposed legislation.

Task force must report findings, conclusions, and recommendations to the Speaker of the House and Lieutenant Governor by January 1, 2013, then dissolves; however, it continues supporting homeowners association legislation until January 1, 2014.

Task force membership shall reflect the racial, gender, geographic, urban and rural, and economic diversity of the state with total expenditures not to exceed $2,000.
