Commends Corporal Robert Stanley Bland of the Clanton Police Department for being selected 2010 Officer of the Year.

Officer of the Year award recognizes outstanding achievement with performance well above basic assignment requirements, evaluated on leadership, attendance, productivity, judgment, decisiveness, and sensitivity.

Corporal Bland served in the United States Army prior to beginning his law enforcement career in 2001 as a Corrections Officer and Reserve Deputy with Chilton County Sheriff's Office.

His law enforcement career includes service with Jemison Police Department starting in 2004 as a Detective and Sergeant, and joining Clanton Police Department in 2007 as a Detective in the Criminal Investigations Division.

Over 10 years of service to Chilton County and the State of Alabama, the Legislature commends Corporal Bland with heartiest congratulations on his well-deserved selection and best wishes for future endeavors.
