• Creates the Alzheimer's Disease Task Force composed of 29 voting members including state department heads, legislative committee chairs, industry representatives, and disease advocacy organizations.

• Task force shall assess the current and future impact of Alzheimer's disease on Alabama residents, examine existing long-term care services and resources, and develop a comprehensive state response strategy to address dementia-related challenges.

• Requires examination of dementia service trends, capacity, training requirements, home and community-based resources, memory screening availability, health care disparities for minority populations, and state support for research.

• Task force must submit findings and recommendations to the Governor and Legislature in a State Alzheimer's Disease Plan by March 1, 2014, at which time it terminates.

• Members serve without compensation, task force expenditures capped at $1,000, and the Department of Mental Health shall provide administrative support.
