• Commends President Barack Obama for his leadership and courage in ordering the operation that brought Osama bin Laden to justice.

• Acknowledges that Osama bin Laden was responsible for the deaths of 2,977 people from over 90 countries on September 11, 2001, including victims on four hijacked aircraft and at the World Trade Center and Pentagon.

• Recognizes bin Laden's responsibility for the 1998 bombings of U.S. embassies in Nairobi, Kenya and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (killing over 200 and injuring over 5,000) and the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole (killing 17 sailors and injuring 39).

• States that bin Laden's death represents the most significant achievement in the nation's effort to defeat al Qaeda.
