• Jackson High School is honored and commended for winning the 2011 4A State Football Championship with a 42-28 victory over Oneonta High School in Tuscaloosa.

• Coach Danny Powell led the team to victory in his first year at Jackson High School; he previously won four state championships at Leroy High School and is one of only two coaches to win the Super 6 state championship at two different schools.

• Eleven Super 6 Class 4A records were set or tied during the championship game, including standout performances by junior Jarren Johnson (game MVP with 10 catches for 188 yards and 2 touchdowns), Lakendrick James (3 interceptions, 151 return yards, including a 94-yard interception return for a touchdown), and quarterback Dustyn Moseley (17 of 28 passes for 298 yards and 3 touchdowns).
