• University of Iberoamerica (UNIBE) was founded in Costa Rica in 1995 to improve higher education in health science and medical training.

• Troy University and UNIBE have established a mutually beneficial agreement for faculty exchanges and study-abroad opportunities between the two institutions.

• Senior leadership of UNIBE, including President Dr. Emma Grace Hernandez, Chancellor Dr. Israel Hernandez, and Vice Chancellor and Provost Dr. Roberto Vodriguez, visited Alabama for Troy University's 125th Birthday Celebration on February 24, 2012.
