Mourns the death of Jack Joseph "Jake" Monte of Homewood, Alabama, who died on February 11, 2012, at age 98.

Honors his military service in World War II with the 1st Special Service Force (Black Devils), where he served as a Heavy Machine and Anti-Tank Gunner, Military Policeman, and Italian Interpreter in the European Theatre, earning a Silver Star, Bronze Star, and other decorations.

Recognizes his post-war community involvement including membership in the American Legion, VFW, Knights of Columbus Council 4304, and volunteer work with the 4th of July Festival at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.

Celebrates his 71-year marriage to Margaret Ragusa Monte and his family legacy of 3 daughters, 1 son, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Directs the Alabama House of Representatives to record his death with sympathy to his family and recognition of his valued contributions to the community.
