Recognizes Dr. Rita Salzberg for 25 years of service as director of the Music Opportunity Program, a nonprofit organization providing music education to children in the greater Birmingham area.

Credits Dr. Salzberg with teaching more than 10,000 children to play stringed instruments and fostering a lifelong appreciation for orchestral music without regard to financial status, race, color, ethnicity, or gender.

Acknowledges her accomplishments as an accomplished violinist, superlative teacher whose beginner curriculum has been praised as "the best string method book ever used," and conductor of the Birmingham Prelude String Orchestra.

Notes that many of her students have majored in music at universities and conservatories nationwide and received hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarship funds.

Extends highest commendation from the Alabama House of Representatives to Dr. Rita Salzberg for her exceptional abilities and tireless dedication to the Music Opportunity Program.
