• Coach Jim Golden is commended on his induction into the Alabama High School Sports Hall of Fame.

• Golden graduated from Carroll High School as a four-sport letterman and All-State athlete ranked in the top 500 nationally, then played basketball at Enterprise State Junior College where he was an All-American and holds the career rebound record of 586 rebounds in two years.

• Golden coached at Dothan High School from 1975 to 2005, serving as head football coach and athletic director from 1983 to 1986 with a 26-15 record and area championships in 1985 and 1986.

• As head basketball coach from 1986 to 2005, Golden compiled a 327-155 record, led 13 of 16 teams to area championships, won the State Regional Tournament three times, and reached State Tournaments four times with a 6A State Runner-Up finish in 2002.

• Golden was previously inducted into the Wiregrass Hall of Fame in 2007 and is married to Carolyn with five children and eight grandchildren.
