Reagan Park will be dedicated on May 26, 2012, in honor of Mr. Billy "Rip" Reagan, a renowned composer, arranger, and youth leader.

Mr. Reagan served as Director of the Emma Sansom High School Rebel Band for 22 years and won three VFW National Championships (1957-1958, 1959), three Greatest Band in Dixie Championships (1963, 1965, 1967), and two Dogwood Arts Festival Championships (1968, 1969).

Mr. Reagan achieved Superior Concert Performances for 21 consecutive years in State High School Competition and was named one of the Top 10 Directors of the United States by Instrumentalist Magazine in 1963.

Mr. Reagan served as Director of the Gadsden State Community College Show Band for more than 25 years, was a cofounder of the Mid South Marching Band Festival, and was inducted into the Band Directors Hall of Fame.

The House of Representatives commends Mr. Billy "Rip" Reagan in recognition of the Reagan Park dedication and directs that a copy of the resolution be provided as evidence of the state's admiration and appreciation.
