Recognizes Birmingham Police Officer Beverly Peterson as a nominee for the 2012 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, Alabama's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

Lieutenant Peterson has served with the Birmingham Police Department for 25 years and is assigned to the North Precinct.

On August 31, 2011, while on patrol, Lieutenant Peterson observed a choking adult male and administered the Heimlich maneuver to dislodge a breathing obstruction, saving the individual's life.

Directs that Officer Peterson receive a copy of this resolution as a token of admiration and esteem for her quick thinking and professional response in a time of crisis.
