Recognizes Huntsville Police Officer Micky Brantley as a nominee for the 2012 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

Officer Brantley has served with the Huntsville Police Department for seventeen years and received numerous awards including two Letters of Appreciation, twelve Certificates of Commendations, five Unit Citations, one Meritorious Service Medal, one Lifesaving Medal, and one Medal of Valor.

On January 13, 2011, Officer Brantley detected a residential fire, rescued a woman and child from the doorway, entered the burning structure to rescue a male occupant, and re-entered to attempt rescue of a small child, saving three lives total.

After the fire was extinguished, search of the house revealed that an adult male and a small girl perished in the fire despite Officer Brantley's heroic rescue efforts.

Directs that Officer Brantley receive a copy of the resolution as a token of the House's admiration and esteem for his actions disregarding his own safety and health.
